Finally got all the keys for the apartment.. and even got a small storage unit.. I guess I can put stuff in there till I decide where to put stuff.. Still need strong arms to help with the heavy stuff.. I can use the trolley here to transfer my stuff to the truck.. and then at the new place they have a Hand cart... So, won't have to rent one from U-Haul... Still have to call them to make arrangements to rent it.
Coming home.... I did stop off at this Rad Mexican Restaurant.. I will be visiting that one again.... yum.. As soon as the Waitress found out I was from Southern California,, she brought over some very hot sauce.. Yum....LOL.. Yes.. at 65 I can still eat hot sauce.. sometimes the hotter the better...LOL. I then walked over to the bus stop.. I should have walked across the street because that one was the one I really needed........Can you imagine waiting forever for a bus,, getting on the 54 which took me to the Tacoma Mall.. then picking up the number 3 back to where the Sounder was to come.. I found that the Number 3 went back the same way we came on the 54...LOL......................
I guess you had a long day!! Glad you got the keys and have a plan for your move!! Keep us posted!

DeleteYou are a tough turkey aren't you??? What happended with your deposit for the place you couldn't afford? We get lost trying to use skytrain in Vancouver all the time. They even have colour coded the maps on the walls inside and out and we go too far or get off to soon or go around the loop twice. We are much better off in the woods.
ReplyDeleteThat is the one I thought I couldn't afford.. That woman who told me that the price was $755.00 was out of line. I just think she is new.. or something.. Or just talks like everyone is paying full price, when there are lots that are living on the Voucher System. I had to deal with her yesterday also.. gurrr. She seems to talk down to you ... I have no idea what her problem is.. why she does that..Like she is out of her station and she still talks like she is in it...
DeleteSo that nice apartment,,the first one will be where I am headed. I put a U-Haul Truck on reservations last night for Sunday.. I still have lots of packing,. but it is getting better. And I found someone to help me. Sunday is the day...And today I go up and pick up my Christmas Gift from the Apartment Manager here... Wonder what it will be??? LOL...
Now I'm wondering about something.... When I moved from that Studio apartment on the second floor. The Manager stopped me one day to ask me that if I received the deposit to just give it to him, I said.. Why would they give it to me?? I'm just moving from one apartment to another....???? Stupid question I thought
ReplyDeleteAnyway... nothing else was said.. so I guess it was OK.. I have a neighbor that moved from the 2nd Floor to the 5th floor and this evening I went up to visit and she told me that they only gave back $200.00 of her deposit..??? I'm so confused.. They were not suppose to do that.. OH.. wait a minute.. what they did was tell her that out of her deposit they were going to keep some because the carpets were extra dirty.. which they were ..Her Husband always wear his boots so that would be right,, but to charge for the blinds??? normal wear and tear for them for sure...So, maybe that was why they were charged extra..
I know in the Summer I have the windows open allll the time and there is a lot so dirt from outside that comes in.. I do clean the window seal... I'm just wondering what they will do about my place. I have till the end of the month.. I think afte I get things cleared out,, I'm going to come back and do a really good job cleaning everything... I want most or if not all my security check.. I'm even going out and buying some spackle to fix all the holes in the walls.. not that many.. but enough ...
I wish you would come and rent our house. We thought we had good renters, who said they were super clean. They leave and I wash windows that haven't been washed for a year and scum in the showers and around all the taps and in the toilets and and and....they can call it normal wear and tear but holes in the paint that I had to patch and touch up could have been done by them before they left. The last "super-renter" who also have a rental they do further north and 'understand' landlord problems, still left dog turds in the leaves in the back yard, and all the outside windows were filthy. She watched me clean them before I would let them move in early. Bah Humbug. I just want to go to church in the morning and hope I can hobble that far.
ReplyDeleteI still don't know what happened to your foot... and I'm all in to the new place.. got in and was setting up the tv..and the lights in the kitchen and livingroom went out. After seeing Wendy off I came home and let the Manager know. She said that the contractor of the building had hired someone to do the electrical and he messed it up Royaly... So the Maintence Man came by and fixed it and the toilet paper holder fell off the wall.. he fixed that also...They have no idea which outlet is messed up.. so have to wait for someone to move in to know.. I just figure it is all new and all.. well, I have to go find a coax cable for the TV.. so I can get the TV hooked up..
