Well, I did it again.. I walked to Safeway Grocery Store and its just over a mile. I walked in..... still walking. and walked around the store putting stuff in the grocery cart. Got all that was on the list.. nothing else extra. Knew I only had that large bag.
Walked up to the checkout and Yes.. it allll fit in that bag.. But..........It was SO Heavy.. It must have weighed 20 pounds..... I figure there were lots of places to stop and take a rest. And that is what I did. But, my arm is shaking and stressed out... I'm pooped out.. and well, from the shoulder all way down to my left hand.. is shaking.... I think I'm getting to old to do this type of hauling..... after allll in a months time I will be 65 years ... Young....... See there is that bag that a very good friend gave me from his travels. It was a 50 lb bag of rice... that they took and made into a carry all bag.. pretty cool...
Do you have a suitcase with wheels? You could try to fashion a carrier out of it, to save your arms/hands. That's a long way to carry extra weight. Bless you!!
ReplyDeleteI think it may be time for one of those wee carriers on wheels. They also free your hands to stop and look in other shops and take Jenny to outdoor markets. I have one hidden under my bed but seldom use it. I got it for free and it is quite classy, with tapestry/needlework type heavy cloth around the bottom half and under the bottom to keep small things from falling out.
ReplyDeleteWell, when I lived in Reno,NV. one of my friends and I drove to Redding,CA and we went to a bunch of yard sales. There is where I found my 2 wheeled grocery cart/laundry cart..For only $2.00.. what ever it would be used for it helped out a lot.
ReplyDeleteToday, I had a very short grocery list and I really did think it would all fit with NO problems in that bag.. It did,, Just weighed way to much for me.. I have no idea how long it took me to walk home, but I really did take my time. And from now on.. I will use that cart that is in the bedroom closet.. Silly me...lol
Yup, time to use the wheels. Cool bag though, Babs.
