Before I moved to this apartment complex, I started having second thoughts. I kinda knew after looking online and google maping where things were. And I went ahead and moved in anyways.
Now I want to know in my mind why I did that? Why knowing that there were no grocery stores in walking distance, or anywhere to walk Jenny in a somewhat safe area. I knew I should have said NO Thank You.. But, that is what love does to you.......lol..
Yes.. I fell in love with what this apartment had to offer. I let loose the thought of "How am I suppose to buy groceries"? Where are all the birds? No one walks around here. I lived in Seattle,where everyone walked, somewhere.
So, I am sad to say.. I don't love it here any more. But, I'm hoping I can get over to the Humanity Store. I want to check it out. Find out if I would like volunteering or not. And I am going to take a little ride on Friday to The Emerald Queen Casino. Even if I just spend $20.00 and walk around and have a free lunch . I think that would be good..
It is difficult to get around without transportation and I feel for you. I live 15 walking minutes from downtown but like you I am not happy with the area I am living in. I hope things improve for you. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteThank you... Its been a Challenge for sure. I'm hoping the little mini mart that is in this complex will finally get opened. So far,,there is nothing in the big room.. At least I wouldn't have to wonder if I have to walk to far for milk or bread, or even a Coke if I want one.
DeleteWell, getting out and getting involved in something that you enjoy will probably help, Barbara, and you may meet some new friends who DO have transportation and will be happy to give you a ride when you need one. I hope it all works out for you, because your apartment does sound really nice. When the weather improves, it may feel different to you, too. You will have to tell us about the Humanity Store!! Good luck at the Casino - turn that $20 into at least $100!!

DeleteI love that I can stay in my jammies and do the laundry, I love that I can put my dishes in the dishwasher and have it do the dishes.. Although there are the things I still have to wash.. lol.. I love that I have a brand new Stove with the biggest Oven ever. And the Fridge is Huge. Those are the things I love about this place. I love that I can go up few floors and go watch a movie, or if my laptop dies, I have another place to go to get online. If I wanted to play Pool there is that up there also...If I wanted to get my hair cut, there are people who come to do it on the 2nd floor. and so these are just the things I love about this place.
What I do not like about it is the bus line is no where close to me. No grocery store, But, I have the Mall a mile away. And when I walk Jenny Craig, there are no place to walk that I feel safe. No park near by. I'm not that far from downtown Tacoma, but I feel like I live in the burbs since there are so few sidewalks.
Did you have to sign a lease? Give it a few months and you may solve the transportation and shopping problem. I hear you about needing nice places to walk. It saves your sanity especially if you live in the rain forest in the gray cold winter.
ReplyDeleteKaryn.. I had to sign a lease, since I'm on Section 8 Housing. But, after a year, it goes to Month to Month. And then I can do what ever I want. 3 years in cloudy and rainy weather is enough for me.... For Sure.. And I'm still thinking of Florida. Why not. But, I am going to save money for a car. Then I will not have to use my airline tickets for Florida.. I can drive there.
ReplyDeleteIt has almost been a year since moving to this Apartment. And I must say. I have been really bad by not blogging about all the interesting things that have been happening. I just signed a month to month since I will be moving away from this very interesting place.
